Exams are bookable direct with one of the many approved centres dotted throughout the UK. You can even try Tutors and Exams who specialise in booking exams for private candidates and have number of centres located in England and Northern Ireland. Your Questions about Online A-Levels Answered
Yes you can study A-Levels online, simply sign up to your preferred subject/s and you’ll be sent all the material required to complete the A-Level syllabus online. Study A-Levels when and where it’s convenient for you.
The normal route via 6th form or college is 2 years. Our A-Level courses also come with 24 months support included but you can complete to suit during that time. There is a combination of guided learning hours and self-study, the total qualification time is 700 hours.
It is possible however to take a Fast Track A-Level and complete the qualification in well under one year.
The average completion time is currently 6-9 months.
Yes it is! Traditionally A-Levels are completed over a 2 year period in the UK. Studying a Fast Track A-Level online dramatically improves the time it takes to complete.
The vast majority of our online learners will complete in well under one year. Some complete in less than half that time. With careful planning and commitment, Fast Track A Levels can be achieved in less than 6 months.
Yes they can but be aware that as our courses are offered on a self study basis, they cannot replace a young learners full time education!
Our A-Level courses are suitable for anyone aged 16 and over, and make a great option for students with other learning commitments or who are outside of the UK.
Yes of course! A-Level certification is issued by AQA, Edexcel, OCR or CIE. All four bodies are nationally recognised and carry full accreditation and recognition.
Upon completion of your examinations with any of the above bodies, you will gain a fully recognised qualification.
A-Level certification will provide you with UCAS points for any university application. UCAS points are awarded on the grade achieved.
Yes, no problem. Your course will contain a series of assignments at various stages in your learning that check your understanding. These are assessed and graded by your tutor. Once you have completed a minimum of 3 assignments, your tutor can provide a predicted grade for you.
You should allow a minimum of 3 months based on the assumption that you have completed and received a grade for at least 3 of the tutor marked assignments within this time.
For example: If you registered in September and submitted 1 assignment per month, you would receive a predicted grade for January.
The actual course can be completed from anywhere with an internet connection.
However, unless you are able to find an exam centre willing to accept you in your location, you would be required to travel to the UK for your exams.
Note; AQA courses cannot be examined outside of the UK.

With the UK Open College, you won’t have to wait until September to start your studies. As we offer our courses online, you can study at any time of the year – even on Christmas Day if you wish! We design our A-Level courses so that they are entirely flexible to fit around your commitments, such as work or childcare. There is no set pace for you to study at, so you can complete your A-Level course via Distance Learning as quickly or as slowly as you need
There is no need to come in to visit us to study, so there are no travel costs involved with studying for your A-Levels. The UK Open College operates entirely online. It’s straightforward to begin studying for your A-Level, you can either learn online or receive a study pack in the post, the choice is yours!
