    Transition to Primary Course. The move to secondary school means a number of major changes for children. Some children feel settled and happy in the new school relatively quickly, but others take a while to adapt to the new routine and environment. This is especially true of children with learning difficulties and those who are also experiencing physical and emotional changes. Understand the experience of moving from primary to secondary school and know how best to support children at this time. Learn about key transition difficulties and how to alleviate fear and teach resilience.

    Learning outcomes

    • You will know the main differences between primary and secondary schools
    • At the same time as a young person is moving to secondary school, they are often starting to go through puberty. You will learn about the physical, emotional, and social effects of puberty.
    • You will learn about supporting the needs of pupils and their families when moving between educational settings.

    Entry Requirements

    There are no previous qualifications required. However, students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:

    Be aged 16 Years or above
    Possess a solid knowledge of the English language
    Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
    Basic computer skills: e.g. Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc
    Have a genuine desire to succeed

    Students do not require a placement to complete this course. 

    Course Duration

    These short courses can be completed in approx 10 hours of study. This will depend on student commitment and ability. Ideal for those who are considering a career in the childcare sector or indeed qualified practitioners looking to enhance their skills in a particular topic.

    Study Method

    Students are able to complete their course purely online though our student portal. Students can expect to receive access to the student portal via email within 1 working days of enrolment being received.

    Once enrolment is received we will email you access and log in information to make a start on your chosen course.

    Assessment

    Students will progress through a series of topics online through our student portal. As students progress through the course they will complete four lots of multiple choice quiz type assessments. If you dont complete first time you can try the assessments again at no extra charge.
