    Childcare Level 2 Course, this fully accredited “Certificate introducing Caring for Children & Young People” level 2 course is suitable for all students looking for an introduction to the childcare sector at entry level.  The course is aimed at students looking to enter this field at level 2 rather than commencing at level 1. No experience of working with children is required to enrol onto this Childcare course.

    Learners are able to access their course and support for a 6 month period via our online learning platform Equal. During this time you can log in and out to suit your personal circumstances. So, if you are looking to complete the course in a shorter time, then with the right attitude and commitment, this is more than possible. We enrol 365 days a year too, so you also have the option to enrol and register online at anytime. No set term times, no lectures to attend, no exams to take! Be qualified in a matter of weeks!

    Note: To meet Ofsted requirements for employment, learners are required to complete the Level 2 Diploma Early Years Practitioner course.

    Course Syllabus

    Learners will complete 4units of study in total as listed below.
    4 tutor marked assignment to complete

    Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people

    Know about the legislation, guidelines. policies and procedures for safeguarding the welfare of children & young people including e-safety
    Know what to do when children or young people are ill or injured, including emergency procedures
    Known how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused, harmed or bullied.

    Understand how play forms part of a Child’s development

    Understand the principles of a child’s development
    Understand how children’s development can be influenced
    Understand the role of the adult in the development  of young children

    Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet

    Understand food labelling
    Understand food additives
    Apply principles of healthy eating

    Understand how to use play to support early learning & development. 

    Understand how a range of toys, games and activities that can be used to support learning and development
    Know a range of toys, games and activities that can be used to support learning & development
    Understand the role of an adult in organising games and activities that support learning & development. 
    Be able to plan an interactive activity.

     

    Entry Requirements

    No previous qualifications are required

    Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:

    Be aged 16 Years or above
    Possess a solid knowledge of the english language
    Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
    Basic computer skills: e.g Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc
    Have a genuine desire to succeed

    Course Duration

    Online course access and tutor support are provided for 6 months,  all included in the fee. Complete to suit within this time frame.

    Total Qualification Time (TQT) – 180 Hours

    On average, learners will complete this course within 4 months.

You will be provided with constructive feedback to help you in completing each unit to the required standard.

    There is no examination to complete as the course is completed using continual assessment.
