    Microsoft Access Online Course. Microsoft Access is a database management system (DBMS) from Microsoft that combines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface and software-development tools. It is part of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and is designed for users to easily create and manage databases.

    Microsoft Access is used by individuals, small businesses, and departments within larger organizations to develop and manage custom database solutions without the need for extensive programming knowledge. It provides a balance between ease of use and powerful database capabilities.

    The Microsoft Access 2019 online Course provides you  all you need to know about the major components of the MS Access application and is presented in online format via our online learning platform. The course includes free access to the GMetrix range of MOS exam practice questions, which have the same format as the MOS exam itself.

    Course Syllabus

    Unit 1: Managing databases

    The following topics are covered: Introduction; Modifying Database Structure; Managing Table Relationships & Keys; Printing & Exporting Data; Lesson Review & Quiz; and Assignment 1 – Creating & Modifying Databases Exercises.

    Unit 2: Creating and modifying table

    The following topics are covered: Introduction; Creating Tables; Managing Tables; Managing Records In Tables; Creating & Modifying Fields; Lesson Review & Quiz; and Assignment 2 – Database Table Exercises.

    Unit 3: Creating and modifying queries

    The following topics are covered: Introduction; Creating & Running Queries (1); Creating & Running Queries (2); Modifying Queries; Creating Calculated Fields & Grouping; Lesson Review & Quiz; and Assignment 3 – Query Exercises.

    Unit 4: Modifying forms in layout view

    The following topics are covered: Introduction; Configuring Form Controls (1); Configuring Form Controls (2); Formatting Forms (1); Formatting Forms (2); Lesson Review & Quiz; and Assignment 4 – Forms Exercises.

    5: Modifying reports in layout view. 

    The following topics are covered: Introduction; Configuring Report Controls; Formatting Reports; Lesson Review & Quiz; Assignment 5 – Report Exercises; and The MOS Examination.

    Entry Requirements

    There are no entry requirements as the course is set out for beginners although students will require their own version of Microsoft 365 or 2019 to complete the course.

    Please Note: This course covers the PC versions of Microsoft Access 2019 and Microsoft Access 365. It will be possible to view the course materials using an Apple Mac although the information within the course will be specific to the PC version of Microsoft Office and will differ slightly from the Mac versions.

    Assessment

    You will be assessed on assignments which are detailed in the course materials. These assignments will require you to create work on, and create and edit spreadsheet files. Your work can be sent back to your course tutor by email for assessment.

    Optional Exam Voucher

    All students have the option to purchase MOS Exam Vouchers for £96.00 which will cover the cost of the exam at participating exam centres. A voucher would be required for each MOS exam you sit. An additional proctoring fee will need to be paid to the exam centre for each exam.

    Please Note: It is the students responsibility to source suitable exam centres. We advise researching exam centres prior to purchasing an exam voucher to make sure a suitable participating exam centre is available.

    Candidates from UK, Ireland and Australia would need to arrange their exams through Prodigy Learning who are the Certiport exam solution provider for these locations. Candidates in other locations would need to contact the relevant Certiport Solution Provider for their Country.

    Exam vouchers (Valid for 12 Months) can be purchased for £90.00. We usually advise buying a voucher when you are ready to sit your test.

    Please Note: Exam Centres will usually charge an additional proctoring fee (Approximately £15.00) for sitting exams.

    The course also comes with GMetrix exam preparation software. The GMetrix Skills Management System provides everything you need to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification.

    On successful completion of this course students will receive our Microsoft Access 2019 and 365 Associate Certificate of Completion. Students can also apply for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Access Associate MO-400 exam.
