This Level 2 Hairdressing Course offers students a foundation within the sector.

  • Basic hair types, textures and growth patterns
  • Hair tests and consequences of failure to do so

Unit 4: Services Offered in the Salon
  • Procedures in preparing the client
  • Procedures in preparing the backwash area
  • The structure of the hair
  • Basic shampooing and conditioning techniques

Unit 5: Styling hair
  • Basic face shapes and suggest suitable hairstyles for each
  • Basic styling techniques

Unit 6: Career Prospects in the Hairdressing Industry
  • Range of careers in the hairdressing industry
  • Staffing structure of a hairdressing business

  • Personal and professional skills required in a particular hairdressing job

Entry Requirements

No previous qualifications are required

Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:

Be aged 16 Years or above
Possess a solid knowledge of the English language
Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
Basic computer skills: e.g Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc
Have a genuine desire to succeed

Course Duration

This course comes with 12 months of support included:

Guided Learning Hours (GLH) – 80 Hours
Total Qualification Time (TQT) – 100 Hours

On average, learners will complete this course within 6 months.

Course Outcome

At the end of this course, successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details all of the units you have completed as part of your course).

Assessment

Learners will be required to complete a series of tutor-marked assignments ( normally 1 after each unit) as they progress through this course. There is no examination to complete as the course is completed using continual assessment.
