Previously Health & Social Care Level 3. This new Adult Care Diploma course (on Jan 1st 2018), RQF listed LV3 Diploma in Adult Care home study course replaces the old Health & Social Care Diploma.

Designed to be studied independently or as a follow on from Level 2 and aims to develop knowledge and understanding of a range of topics fundamental to working in health and social care.

Students can expect to learn more about the role of the health and social care worker, the key principles of safeguarding and protecting in health and social care, the causes and spread of infection, the duty of care in health and social care settings, and much more!

Learners will complete 18 units of study in total as listed below.

Unit 7: Responsibilities of a care worker 
Unit 8: Duty of care in care settings 
Unit 9: Safeguarding and protection in care settings 
Unit 10: The principles of infection prevention and control 
Unit 11: Causes and spread of infection 
Unit 12: Cleaning, decontamination and waste management 
Unit 13: Move and position individuals in accordance with their plan of care 
Unit 14: Support positive risk-taking for individuals 
Unit 15: Support individuals to maintain personal hygiene 
Unit 16: Support individuals to access and use services and facilities 
Unit 17: Support Individuals with specific communication needs 
Unit 18: Support the use of medication in social care settings

Entry Requirements

No previous qualifications are required.

A placement either employed or voluntary is required for a minimum of 1 day per week for the duration of the whole Course. The placement must be in an adult care setting.

Students will be required to nominate an “Expert Witness” within the workplace. This will be a suitably qualified Supervisor/manager (Level 4 or above) willing to witness and feedback to you on practical tasks carried out within each assignment. This individual will be required to sign statements confirming individual tasks have been carried out.

Be aged 16 Years or above
Possess a solid knowledge of the English language
Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
Basic computer skills: e.g. Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc
Have a genuine desire to succeed

This course comes with 12 months of support included:

Guided Learning Hours (GLH) – 400 Hours
Total Qualification Time (TQT) – 580 Hours

On average, learners will complete this course within 12 months.

TQUK is recognised as an awarding organisation by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, who are: the office of the qualifications and examinations regulator (OFQUAL) in England, the Welsh Government and the council for curriculum, examinations and assessment (CCA) in Northern Ireland.

You will be provided with constructive feedback to help you in completing each unit to the required standard.

There is no examination to complete as the course is completed using continual assessment.
