Teaching Assistant Courses, all qualifications accepted by OFSTED and listed on the QCF. If you are wondering how to become a teaching assistant then please read on. Our online teaching assistant courses are available for those aged 16 and above who have an interest in supporting the teaching staff and children in a school as a qualified teaching assistant. We offer a teaching assistant course from a point which requires no previous knowledge or teaching assistant qualifications to those students who are already acting as teaching assistants within the education system.  A range of teaching assistant courses leading to recognised teaching assistant qualifications is available including our beginner course which has seven modules and is expected to take approximately sixty hours of study to a level 3 course taking 180 hours in addition to placement work.  All courses are studied completely within the time frame of the student and come with 12 months of support included within the course fees. Course aims are to teach the supportive role of the teaching assistant within the classroom.

Materials are proved in a paper format dependent on the course and the student can complete at any time within a full year.  UK Open College provides full support to every student with a personal tutor who can be contacted via email.
There are also other courses which can be taken to support these teaching assistant courses.  A careful look through our full selection of courses will help decide which is the most appropriate. A selection of QCF recognised courses are available which are all accepted by OFSTED.  Every course can be commenced at any time convenient to the student, rather than the normal September start of most college courses.
